Restore a node from a snapshot

Needs wget, lz4 and tar. Step 4 downloads the newest snapshot of the network chosen at the top.

  1. Back up the validator state (validators only) 
    cp $HOME/.osmosisd/data/priv_validator_state.json $HOME/.osmosisd/priv_validator_state.json
  2. Reset the node, keep the addrbook 
    osmosisd tendermint unsafe-reset-all --home $HOME/.osmosisd --keep-addr-book
  3. Delete the WASM folder 
    rm -r $HOME/.osmosisd/wasm
  4. Download and unpack the snapshot 
    wget -q -O - $(curl -sL https://snapshots.osmosis.zone/latest) | lz4 -d | tar -C $HOME/.osmosisd -xvf -
  5. Put the validator state back (validators only) 
    cp $HOME/.osmosisd/priv_validator_state.json $HOME/.osmosisd/data/priv_validator_state.json
